When to open the planner
Spring Year 1: Compare multi-harvest berries versus fast single-harvest turnips. Planner highlights regrow cycles that dominate tips and tricks economy advice.
Pre-greenhouse: Identify off-season candidates once indoor tiles ignore snow — cross-check material grind time against mine days in guides hub.
Post-perk: After buying farming perks from best early perks that refund seeds or double harvests, rerun filters — effective profit columns change even if sell prices do not.
How to read profit columns
Base profit assumes watered crops shipped at standard quality without festival bonuses. Planner math uses 1.0 community price tables; if NPC Studio patches seed costs, wiki updates propagate here.
Profit per day beats raw sell price for comparing multi-harvest crops — a cheap regrower beating an expensive single harvest over two weeks is normal.
Regrowth flag marks strawberries, blueberries, cranberries style crops — prioritize them when stamina allows daily watering via recommended rebinds bound Tool Use (Repeated).
Season filters
Select Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter to hide impossible outdoor plantings. Winter outdoor fields often idle unless story exceptions apply — planner prevents wasted seed buys.
Greenhouse players select multiple seasons mentally: run planner once per indoor batch planning session.
Pairing with skills and tools
Farming essence rises with harvest count — high-regrow plans feed skills and essence faster than one-time pumpkins if you can sustain stamina. Fishing or mine afternoons still fit if watering is partially automated via woodcrafting statues later.
Inventory matters: huge harvests need bag upgrade (1000 Tesserae) before planting max tiles — planner max profit row is useless if you dump half the bag to chests mid-harvest.
Tesserae budgeting workflow
- Note current Tesserae after shipping box.
- Filter planner by current season sorted by profit/day descending.
- Buy top seeds plus one backup crop for request-board variety.
- Reserve 500t chunks for fishing rod or shovel if not yet owned.
Do not spend last Tesserae on seeds if bridge fee 1000t from bridge repairs is due tomorrow.
Limits and disclaimers
Planner excludes:
- Quest-only crops with special sell rules.
- Cooking value-add — fish and cooked meals may beat raw crop ship for specific days; use gift finder or cooking guides separately.
- Quality star bonuses from farming skill — approximate only.
Verify odd patches on review patch notes after major updates.
Mobile and second-screen use
Keep planner on phone browser while playing Steam Deck or PC — no install. Does not need Steam overlay.
After planning
Execute daily loop from tips and tricks: water, harvest, ship, donate museum-first copies of new crops if applicable. Revisit planner each season transition — Fall math differs radically from Spring berry rush.
Link back to tools hub for gift planning on villager birthdays that coincide with harvest weeks.
Example planning session
Spring day 7: filter planner to regrow-only, sort profit/day descending, note top three seeds, subtract Tesserae reserved for shovel and rod (~500t each). If top seed cost exceeds budget, pick second seed plus smaller filler for request variety. Summer transition: rerun filter before selling leftover Spring seeds at loss — warehouse mod not required, just ship extras overnight. Document chosen layout in farm journal screenshot for year-two comparison when perk upgrades change harvest counts.
